Exhibition of Kasimir Malevich opens in London

     The largest exhibition of works by famous avant-garde artist Kasimir Malevich (1879-1935) whose name famed Belarus opens in the capital of Great Britain. The exhibition in 12 halls of the Tate Modern Gallery will stay open till 26 October.
      The Malevich exhibition will feature over 400 paintings in the chronological order. The works were brought from Russia, the United States, the Netherlands, France. Famous versions of the Black Square that were brought from Moscow and Saint Petersburg will be on display in London for the first time.
According to exhibition curator Achim Borchardt-Hume, this is the first high-profile exhibition of Kasimir Malevich’s works in the United Kingdom.
       Kasimir Malevich is a founder of Suprematism, one of the earliest forms of abstract art. In 1919 Kasimir Malevich worked as a teacher in the People’s Art School founded by Marc Chagall in Vitebsk. Here Kasimir Malevich’s theoretical and conceptual ideas of Suprematism were further developed.
The most famous works by Kasimir Malevich are the Black Square, the Red Square, the Black Circle, Red Cavalry and Suprematist Composition which was sold at the Sotheby`s auction for $60 million in 2008.
