Belarus, China keen to expand cooperation in sports

Belarus' Sports and Tourism Minister Sergei Kovalchuk met with Deputy Head of the General Administration of Sport of China Zhang Jiasheng on 8 June, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Sports and Tourism Ministry.

The meeting took place at the Belarusian State University of Physical Culture. Sergei Kovalchuk expressed gratitude to his Chinese colleagues for their assistance in organizing a match as part of the opening ceremony of the National Football Stadium in Minsk. "I am confident that your visit will give a new impetus to the development of our relations," he emphasized.

Representatives of the Chinese delegation examined facilities and resources of the Belarusian State University of Physical Culture. They thanked their Belarusian colleagues for the warm welcome and congratulated them on the stadium's opening.

 

"Thanks to the wise leadership of our countries' presidents, the level of interaction between China and Belarus is at a record high level. Against this backdrop, we have achieved certain progress in sports thanks to our joint and well-coordinated work. We are interested in deepening practical cooperation in sports with the Republic of Belarus," Zhang Jiasheng stressed.
