Russia's Samara Oblast vice-governor holds talks at Belarus' Development Bank

The financing of export of Belarusian products to Russia's Samara Oblast was discussed at a meeting hosted by the Development Bank of the Republic of Belarus, the bank's press service told BelTA.

A delegation of government officials and representatives of various organizations of Samara Oblast is coming to Belarus on 7 March to discuss ways to increase trade, expand business ties and deepen cooperation. Samara Oblast Vice-Governor Vyacheslav Romanov was one of the first to arrive in our country. He was hosted by the Development Bank where the parties discussed the financing of export of Belarusian products to Samara Oblast.

“I know about the Development Bank firsthand. When I worked in Tula Oblast, we interacted as part of export support programs that sought to help our enterprises purchase Belarusian products. Now I would like to learn about the bank's current tools and to identify specific areas for bilateral cooperation,” Vyacheslav Romanov said. He emphasized that the meeting was not introductory, it was of great practical importance.

“We need to replace utility vehicles and public transport. We consider purchasing these vehicles, including with the financial support of the Belarusian Development Bank,” said the vice-governor.

First Deputy Chairman of the Board of the Development Bank Roman Brodov highlighted strong economic relations between Belarus and Russia. “This is evidenced, among other things, by the large number of Russian clients who have applied to the Development Bank for export financing and have already purchased the goods they need or have paid for the services of Belarusian specialists,” said Roman Brodov.

According to him, the bank is ready to finance the supply of domestic products in both Belarusian and Russian rubles under various export cooperation schemes: direct lending to enterprises, interbank financing and leasing. The parties discussed in detail the terms of lending using potential and implemented export cases and agreed to continue practical cooperation after the Samara delegation visits a number of Belarusian enterprises and conducts pre-contract negotiations.
