The Commonwealth Cup featuring best Belarusian and Russian athletes will be held at the Minsk Arena skating stadium from 27 to 29 December, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Skating Union.
Team Belarus will include Ignat Golovatsiuk, a participant of the Olympic Games and world champion 2016 among juniors, medalists of the European championships 2022 Hanna Damaratskaya and Ekaterina Gagieva, who also represented Belarus at the Olympic Games in Beijing. Team Russia will feature multiple world champion and world record holder in the 500 meter Pavel Kulizhnikov, the winners of major international tournaments Daniil Aldoshkin, Viktor Mushtakov, Daria Kachanova and Angelina Golikova.
The opening ceremony of the Commonwealth Cup will be held on 27 December at 10.30 and will be followed by the 500m and 1000m races. On 28 December the program will feature the team sprint, the 1500m and 3000m for women and 5000m for men. On Sunday, the program will wrap up with mass starts and 100m gala races of speed skating stars.
