Belarus, Russia’s Bashkortostan setting up joint enterprises

Belarusian Economy Minister Yuri Chebotar spoke in an interview to the BelRos TV channel about joint ventures Belarus and Russia’s Bashkortostan were setting up, BelTA has learned.

According to him, Belarus’ trade with Bashkortostan is increasing, and the range of mutual trade is expanding. “The most important thing is the setting up of joint ventures. Today we trade with one commodity, tomorrow with another, but joint ventures create stability. For example, the Belarusian battery company plans to build a separator plant here and has already started designing works,” Yuri Chebotar said.

In his words, there is potential for cooperation in many sectors. “The top goods in mutual trade include petrochemical products, so we need to focus on the cooperation of our core enterprises. There are points of growth, there are agreements. The second point is machine building. Here we are building several enterprises in Bashkortostan as part of mutual agreements. Among them is Amkodor's project to produce equipment for agriculture, in particular grain drying complexes,” the minister said.

He also drew attention to building up the potential of electric transport production. “Today Minsk Automobile Plant (MAZ trademark) has quite successfully established itself in Ufa with a partner plant. They say that the area does not allow to build up the potential and it is necessary to build a new enterprise. There are also relevant agreements here,” the minister added.
