Union State PA to strengthen ties with parliamentary organizations

The Parliamentary Assembly of the Union State of Belarus and Russia intends to strengthen cooperation with the international organizations that adhere to the multipolarity principles, reads the plan of international activities approved by the Parliamentary Assembly at its session in Moscow on 12 December, BelTA learned from the press service of the Parliamentary Assembly.


“The document outlines the priority areas of cooperation with the CIS Inter-Parliamentary Assembly and the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly, further development of inter-parliamentary ties with international parliamentary associations that adhere to the principles of multipolarity and respect for the sovereign equality of states, such as the Asian Parliamentary Assembly (APA), the Pan-African Parliament (PAP), the Inter-Parliamentary Assembly of ASEAN countries (AIPA) and others,” the press service pointed out.
The plan also provides for the participation of the Parliamentary Assembly in the observation of elections and referendums within the framework of the CIS mission.

“The MPS will work to promote integration processes, convergence of legislation, foreign policy coordination of the CIS member states, and joint approaches to major global and regional issues,” the press service added.
