Everything is to immerse the city in the festive atmosphere, Vitebsk Mayor Aleksei Geroyev told the media as he spoke about the city’s preparations for the Marathon of Unity cultural and social campaign, BelTA has learned.
“We are very happy to host the Marathon of Unity. Vitebsk is a city of festival, colors, and joy. Getting ready for the Marathon of Unity, we have worked out a concept of the city’s festive decoration, including placement of signboards, banners, billboards and dynamic facade lighting. Everything is done to immerse the city in the festive atmosphere,” Aleksei Geroyev said.
Apart from the city’s major venues the Marathon of Unity also outreaches to labor collectives, he said. “Employees of enterprises will have the opportunity to communicate with each other, share experience and watch a festive concert.
The more we hold such events, the stronger and more united our people will become. We are together, we are united, and we are invincible,” the mayor emphasized.
According to Aleksei Geroyev, the enterprises participating in the event have been chosen for a reason. “These enterprises boast energetic teams that show certain successes. These are our Marko Holding Company, Vitebsk Fur Factory, Polymerconstruction, Vitebsk elevators [Vitstroytekhmash] and a number of other enterprises. We in Vitebsk know how to work well and have fun. Everything we do, we do together. This is our strength,” the mayor added.
