Export of hi-tech goods from Belarus to Serbia almost doubled this year. The information was announced at the meeting of the Intergovernmental Belarusian-Serbian Commission for Scientific and Technical Cooperation on 18 November, BelTA learned from the press service of the State Committee on Science and Technology.
The meeting held in Minsk was led by Deputy Chairman of the State Committee on Science and Technology of Belarus Tatyana Stolyarova and State Secretary at the Ministry of Science, Innovation, and Technological Development of Serbia Miroslav Trajanovic. The parties focused on the state and prospects of science, technology and innovation development in the two countries and discussed issues of scientific and technical cooperation.
“The export of hi-tech goods from Belarus to Serbia has almost doubled this year, and its share in total exports amounted to 34%,” the State Committee on Science and Technology said. “Some 57 Belarusian-Serbian development projects in technical, physical and mathematical, agrarian and biological, chemical areas, as well as nanomaterials, materials science and information technologies were implemented from 2014 to 2024.”
The participants of the meeting identified information and communication technologies, artificial intelligence, biotechnology, energy, engineering and agriculture as priority areas of joint activities for 2025-2026. The parties also agreed to announce a new joint Belarusian-Serbian competition of scientific and technical projects for 2025-2026 in the near future.
The next meeting of the commission is scheduled to take place in Serbia in 2026, the press service said.
