Belarusian MTZ set to bolster cooperation with Venezuela

The Belarusian tractor manufacturer MTZ plans to enhance industrial cooperation with Venezuela, said Mikhail Kadnikov, MTZ Deputy Director General for Marketing - Marketing Director, who makes part of the Belarusian government delegation led by Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko on an official visit to Venezuela, BelTA has learned.

According to Mikhail Kadnikov, MTZ has already presented its goods to Mayor of San Cristobal (Tachira) Silfredo Zambrano this year. “I think this will make the basis of the current high-level visit, the visit of our prime minister, to take certain steps to reopen the plant in Barinas,” he said.

A plant was built in the Venezuelan city of Barinas, which supplied more than 7,000 vehicles to the country's market. Due to certain difficulties, the production was suspended, but in 2021 the Belarusian-Venezuelan relations reached a new level.

Further development of trade and economic relations between the two countries will help load the production to the maximum, Mikhail Kadnikov said. “It is of high importance for us in terms of joint cooperation projects, as well as in terms of food security of Venezuela. The capacity of the plant is 10,000 vehicles per year,” he said.

The MTZ lineup presented in Venezuela is large, the specialist added. “I think we will work with the previous capacities - 50-300hp. These vehicles are in demand among cattle breeders, crop growers mainly in key regions,” Mikhail Kadnikov explained.

According to the deputy director general, when working in faraway markets, it is important to take into account the mentality and features of those countries. “A constant presence is necessary here. I think constant communication will let us deepen cooperation and reach the necessary dialogue. Roman Golovchenko's visit will help us intensify this work,” Mikhail Kadnikov said.
