Ryzhenkov meets with Head of International Department of CPC Central Committee Liu Jianchao

Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Maksim Ryzhenkov held talks with Head of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee Liu Jianchao on 9 July, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Maksim Ryzhenkov and Liu Jianchao discussed in detail bilateral cooperation in politics and other areas, as well as interaction within regional organizations and in the international arena.

Liu Jianchao emphasized the importance of Belarus joining the SCO. He noted that Belarus’ accession expanded the organization geographically into the European continent.

The two countries believe that it is necessary to promote a more fair multipolar world order.

Maksim Ryzhenkov emphasized that cooperation with China is a strategic direction of the foreign policy of the Republic of Belarus. “Despite the difficult international and geopolitical situation, our countries were able to become an example of genuine cooperation based on mutual respect, understanding and support,” the Ministry of Foreign Affairs noted.

Security issues and conflicts in the Eurasian region were also on the agenda of the meeting. The parties reaffirmed commitment to making all possible efforts to resolve these issues.

“Liu Jianchao spoke highly of the interaction between the CPC Central Committee and the Belarus President Administration, as well as the party contacts with the Belarusian side. He said he would like to further strengthen them,” the Ministry of Foreign Affairs remarked.

Maksim Ryzhenkov invited Liu Jianchao to take part as an honored guest in the high-level conference on Eurasian security to be held in Minsk this autumn.
