Lukashenko arrives in Russia’s Irkutsk

Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko has arrived in Russia on a working visit. The head of state is visiting Irkutsk Oblast, BelTA has learned.

The plane of the Belarusian leader arrived in Russia from Genghis Khan International Airport in Ulaanbaatar. Aleksandr Lukashenko was in Mongolia on a state visit, during which the presidents of the two countries held official talks one-on-one and with the participation of their delegations. The parties reached an agreement on expanding cooperation in trade and economy, supplying the Mongolian market with food and industrial products of Belarusian enterprises, joint work in the agro-industrial complex.

Aleksandr Lukashenko also got familiar with the history, traditions and customs of the Mongolian people.
Upon arrival in the Russian region, the Belarusian head of state was greeted by Anatoly Seryshev, Russian president's plenipotentiary representative to the Siberian Federal District, Irkutsk Oblast Governor Igor Kobzev, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Russia Dmitry Krutoi, and other officials.

Belarus and Irkutsk Oblast have a long-standing and strong relations in various areas. This Russian region is an important partner for Belarus in trade, investment and culture.

Belarus and Russia pay special attention to the development of aircraft construction. The Russian aircraft industry is facing the task of implementing large-scale projects to increase the output of civil aircraft. Belarusian enterprises have long been involved in task by helping with the supply of aircraft components, units and assemblies.

Other areas of cooperation include forestry and construction. In addition, Irkutsk Oblast may be interested in Belarusian mining equipment and quarry machinery, trucks and passenger transport.
