Russia to send representative delegation for Belarus-Russia regional forum


 

About 300 participants will attend the 11th Forum of the Regions of Belarus and Russia from the Russian side, said Yuri Vorobyov, Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation.


A joint meeting of the Belarusian and Russian organizing committees for the 11th Forum of the Regions of Belarus and Russia was held via a video link on 15 May. Chairwoman of the Council of the Republic Natalya Kochanova is making a working trip to Polotsk to inspect the course of preparations for the 11th Forum of the Regions of Belarus and Russia.

"The heads of the constituent entities of the Russian Federation eagerly respond to our invitations and show an interest in the events of the forum. We have invited 57 subjects of the Russian Federation: 37 of them will be represented by senior officials of the regions and 42 - by heads of legislative bodies," said Yuri Vorobyov. “The total number of participants from the Russian delegation si expected at about 300 people. I believe that we will have a complete list about the Russian participants by 7 June."

 


The 11th Forum of the Regions of Belarus and Russia will be held on June 27-28 and themed around the topic "The role of interregional cooperation in building an innovative economy of the Union State". The 11th Forum of the Regions of Belarus and Russia will span three cities of Belarus: Vitebsk, Polotsk, Novopolotsk.


The forum will run nine sections: "Effective enforcement of legislation as the most important factor of Union State integration", "Interregional cooperation as the driver of progressive development of the Union State of Belarus and Russia", "Innovative medicine and pharmacy in the Union State: priority areas and development prospects","Innovations in higher education and science: experience and prospects of cooperation of the Union State", "Cooperation between Belarus and Russia in innovations in the international context", "Ensuring technological independence of Belarus and Russia on the basis of innovations in the manufacturing sector", "Latest technologies in the agricultural industry of Belarus and Russia, scientific and personnel support", "Cooperation between Belarus and Russia in the light industry: from ideas to innovations", "Cultural and humanitarian cooperation and tourism as the factors in strengthening the interaction between the regions of Belarus and Russia".
