Events to mark Chinese New Year become good tradition in Belarus

Holding events to mark the Chinese New Year has become a good tradition in Belarus, Belarusian First Deputy Culture Minister Valery Gromada told the media before the Chinese New Year 2024 symphony concert at the Belarusian State Philharmonic on 2 February, BelTA has learned.

"Since 2014, it has become a good tradition to hold cultural and entertainment events as part of such a wonderful holiday as the Chinese New Year. Undoubtedly, our cooperation with the People's Republic of China is developing dynamically in economy and in culture. This is why such holidays based on our similar traditional values - love for the motherland, parents and the younger generation - are important for both the Chinese and Belarusian people," Valery Gromada said.

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to the Republic of Belarus Xie Xiaoyong said that for 32 years, the China-Belarus friendly relations of comprehensive strategic partnership have developed fruitfully and reached a high level. "We support each other on major issues concerning the core interests of our two countries and carry out very effective coordination in the international arena. In addition, our two countries have maintained very fair and fruitful trade and economic cooperation. Our bilateral trade grows every year," Ambassador Xie Xiaoyong added.

According to the Ambassador, the relations between Belarus and China have become a model for building a new type of international relations, and the practice of their development shows that the China-Belarus relations not only meet the fundamental interests of the two countries and peoples, but also contribute to peace and stability in the region in particular and the world in general.
