Paintings of Belarusian and Russian artists on display in Gomel on 19 September

An exhibition of still lives by Belarusian and Russian artists from the funds of the National Art Museum of Belarus and the Gomel Palace and Park Ensemble opened in Gomel. The exhibition is a peculiar one, as for the first time the museum will display so many still life paintings of renowned artists at a time. The visitors of the exhibition will have a wonderful opportunity to see the beauty of the world around us from different perspectives through the eyes of well known artists.
The exposition will feature more than 50 paintings by, among others, famous 19th century painter of Belarusian origin Ivan Khrutsky. Still life painting is often compared to a short musical piece. This kind of painting appeals to many artists, as it is a sort of creative laboratory. Belarus is the motherland of many renowned artists painting in a realistic manner. Experts believe that this became possible due to fascinating Belarusian nature, national painting traditions, and the popularity of this genre.
