The State Chamber Orchestra of the Republic of Belarus is planning to give 36 concerts in small Belarusian towns in the upcoming season as part of the project, The Music Gardens of Belarus. Art director and chief conductor of the State Chamber Orchestra of the Republic of Belarus, Honored Artist of Russia Yevgeny Bushkov called a press conference to talk about the project.
The orchestra is going to vary its program depending on the current repertoire during the provincial tour. It will mainly play short pieces of music, since those attract more interest, and unprepared listeners do not get tired. “You cannot play the same program all the time. We aspire to make our performance informative and entertaining, but at the same time we do not cross the line of popularization,” Yevgeny Bushkov noted.
The Music Gardens of Belarus is a series of concerts around Belarusian towns. The major goal of the project is to make classical music closer to rural dwellers who rarely have a possibility to attend live music performances. The first program was played in March. Since then the orchestra has given 9 concerts playing the pieces by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Pyotr Tchaikovsky, Alfred Schnittke in Gomel, Mogilev and Vitebsk oblasts. This project is planned to last for 1.5 to 2 years, and it envisages 45 concerts.
