The third round of talks on signing the agreement on establishing a free trade zone between the Customs Union/Single Economic Space member states and Vietnam takes place in Minsk.
The Customs Union delegation is led by member of the Eurasian Economic Commission Board Andrei Slepnev while the Vietnamese delegation is led by Vietnamese Trade and Industry Minister Vu Huy Hoang.
Belarusian Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Guryanov delivered a welcome address at the opening of the negotiations. And more:Belarus and Vietnam are actively expanding industrial cooperation, A facility to assemble MAZ vehicles has been set up in Vietnam. According to the Belarusian Foreign Ministry, the Belarusian producers are also discussing the possibility to set up joint ventures in food industry in Vietnam. There are also plans to set up a plant to produce complex fertilizers in Vietnam.
Belarus and Vietnam take part in joint exhibitions and fairs and exchange business visits. The Belarusian Foreign Ministry noted that the most important issues of bilateral cooperation in science, technologies and education include the creation of a Vietnam-based center to facilitate R&D cooperation and the establishment of a joint educational institution in Ho Chi Minh to train Vietnamese technical personnel.Trade, economic and R&D cooperation between Belarus and Vietnam will be discussed in detail at the session of the intergovernmental commission in Minsk. After the session the sides are set to sign a protocol and an updated program for economic cooperation between the Republic of Belarus and the Socialist Republic of Vietnam for 2013-2015.
