Day of Belarusian Written Language has already started in Minsk.
By tradition, the solemn events began in the church, the cradle of Slavic and Belarusian written language. The scientific and educational expedition "Road to Shrines" then made its way from the Minsk Holy Spirit Cathedral to Bykhov, the new host of the holiday.
The expedition's main symbol is a lamp with the Holy Fire. It is lit in the main Orthodox church of the country with the blessing of Metropolitan Filaret. Members of the expedition will take it to all important places along the route.
The "Road to Shrines" expedition will get to Bykhov on September 1.
