Next year’s joint action plan for CIS armies approved

        Taking into account the importance and topicality of the development of integration processes in military sphere, the CIS Defense Ministers Council has approved a joint action plan for the armed forces of the CIS states for 2014 in Minsk. The information was released by Belarusian Defense Minister Yuri Zhadobin.
        The Minister said that as part of the efforts to enhance military cooperation the sides also discussed amendments to the agreement of 12 March 1993 on using military satellite communication systems and their further improvement, the draft agreement on cooperation between the engineer troops of the CIS states in humanitarian mine clearing, the draft agreement on cooperation in topogeodesic and navigational support for the armed forces. The sides also discussed reference levels of gamma radiation in the CIS states, cooperation between the CIS defense ministries in control over the technical state of ammunition.
The session also tabled several matters involving humanitarian cooperation between the armed forces, which fully meets priorities of the CIS development and national interests of each state.
