The musical project Jazz Saturdays Near the City Hall will unite artists of different continents. The presentation of the large-scale international forum took place in Minsk on 4 June, BelTA has learned.
For the first time outstanding jazz musicians from America and Europe will perform in the center of the Belarusian capital.
Inna Bukhvalova, director of the concert agency Equilibrium Arts, stated: “We wanted to arrange nights of free jazz music that will bring pleasure. The program will feature modern European jazz, traditional American jazz, and young Belarusian jazz”. She emphasized the arrival of 73-year-old jazz veteran Eddie Henderson in Minsk. Eddie Henderson received his first trumpeter lesson from the famous jazz musician Louis Armstrong.
Jazz Saturdays Near the City Hall will start a series of cultural open-air events. It is possible that in the future Svobody Square may host folk music and even rock music concerts.
