Belarus, Russia to develop textbooks on history of bilateral relations

           Scientists of Belarus and Russia are working on a concept for textbooks on the history of the bilateral relations for extracurricular reading, State Secretary of the Union State Grigory Rapota told media after the plenary meeting of the 8th Belarusian Media Forum “Partnership for the Future: Historical and Cultural Heritage as a Factor of Unity".
           Grigory Rapota noted that he is always cautious about “recording the absolute truth in the textbooks on history. Although the facts which underwent appraisal by the public opinion and science, can be fixed to be the guides for the youth.” Speaking about the significance of the media forum, Grigory Rapota noted that such meetings help learn new things and outline positions on the most important issues.
          The State Secretary of the Union State spoke in favor of wider coverage on Russian-Belarusian projects. “We are working on the flax program at present. And in order to make final decisions, we are conducting a media tour of the facilities among other things. The results of the trip in the form of journalist materials would help us better understand the appropriateness of the project,” Grigory Rapota said.
