Belarus-Lithuania ties hailed as strategic partnership

         At present Belarus and Lithuania can be called strategic economic partners, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to the Republic of Lithuania Vladimir Drazhin said.
“In 2012 we made extraordinary progress in our economic cooperation. If we maintain momentum this year, we will be able to expand bilateral trade and investment even more. I think there is no doubt that Lithuania and Belarus have reached the level of strategic economic partnership,” the ambassador said at a press conference at the news agency ELTA.
        He presented the second Lithuania-Belarus regional cooperation forum that will be held in Alytus and Druskininkai at the end of May. It will be a logical continuation of the business forum that was held in Klaipeda in April and was attended by Prime Minister of Belarus Mikhail Myasnikovich and his Lithuanian counterpart Algirdas Butkevicius. The ambassador expressed hope that the forum in Druskininkai and Alytus will be just as fruitful. The diplomat said that tourism and recreation will be given due attention, too.
