Representatives of the directorate in charge of arranging the world ice hockey championship in Minsk in 2014 are taking part in the observer program of the International Ice Hockey Federation. The program is taking place during the 2013 IIHF world championship in Stockholm, Sweden.
The IIHF annual observer program is designed to share experience and knowledge with organizing committees of future world championships. The Belarusian team is as large as 21 people and comprises representatives of the directorate for holding the 2014 world ice hockey championship in Minsk. Apart from that, the two-day seminars will gather representatives of the committees for organizing the 2015 world championship in Czechia (12 people) and the 2016 world championship in Russia (two people).
The organizers will offer an extensive program of events. As many as 27 reports are expected to be presented within two days. Participants will discuss accreditation, hospitality, accommodation, transportation, the equipment of arenas, a ticket program, the introduction of statistic schemes, marketing, security, insurance, the operation of mass media, and other things.
Participants will also be able to test their knowledge against practice. The program provides for visiting the Stockholm-based Globe Arena, examination of specialized zones, a hands-on familiarization with all the aspects involved in organizing world championships and certainly the spectating of the 2013 world championship games.
