Prices will not be unjustifiably raised by Minsk hotels during the world ice hockey championship in 2014

Prices will not be unjustifiably raised by Minsk hotels during the world ice hockey championship in 2014 the way it happened in Poland and Ukraine during the European championship in 2012. The statement was made by Mr Yevgeny Vorsin, Chairman of the Belarusian Ice Hockey Federation at the press conference.

“Certainly, one has to bear in mind what economic situation will be in Belarus and the world by 2015, what exchange rates for the US dollar, the euro and so on will be. But there will be no unjustified price hike. The matter has been coordinated with TsentrKurort and other agencies. The prices will not differ much from those that exist today. For instance, if a suit costs $100-120 today, the price will be the same, plus or minus 10%. But the prices will be affordable,” assured Yevgeny Vorsin.

"The tickets will be available starting September, for the fans to know the exact placement of teams in the groups and the dates of the games they’d like to attend. Then the ticket issue will become clearer.

He also said that the organizers of the tournament should cover the expenses involved in the accommodation and meals for the teams, judges, and official guests. If the prices are raised drastically, it will not be beneficial for the host country", said the official.
