Belarus-EU relations in the context of Lithuania’s forthcoming chairmanship in the European Union have been discussed during ministerial consultations of Belarus and Lithuania in Minsk. Foreign Minister of Belarus Vladimir Makei received Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Andrius Krivas in Minsk. The Belarusian delegation was led by Deputy Foreign Minister Yelena Kupchina. Participants of the consultations discussed in detail the state and prospects of Belarus-Lithuania relations in all the areas with a particular focus on trade and economic ties. The sides confirmed interest in strengthening the constructive nature of Belarus-Lithuania political relations and intensifying mutually beneficial cooperation in trade, economy, transit and culture. The participants of the ministerial consultations discussed other matters of the mutual interest. They agreed to continue expanding Belarus-Lithuania cooperation in all the areas discussed at the meeting.
