Dinamo Minsk lose to Avangard Omsk

In the second stop on their three-game trip Dinamo Minsk lost 3-5 to Avangard Omsk in a KHL match. Defenseman Lukas Krajicek returned to action after missing the previous game against Yugra Khanty-Mansiysk (7-5 win). Kevin Lalande replaced Pekka Rinne in the goal. Charles Linglet was also back in the lineup after sitting out the previous three games. The teams combined for 22 shots on the goal in the first scoreless period. The second period saw six goals with four of them netted on the power play. Dinamo Minsk conceded four goals with the fourth puck being the most hurtful as it crossed the goal line just a second before the whistle blew the play dead. The goal was allow to stand after a video review. Dinamo’s Teemu Laine cut the 0-2 deficit snapping home a shot at point-blank range at 9:21 into the second period. Alexander Kulakov pulled another back six minutes after Avangard made it 3-1. Early in the final period Joe Pavelski’s goal raised Dinamo hopes for a happy end but Minsk offensive flame was doused by a 4-minute high sticking penalty on Andrei Stas. After allowing the fifth goal Dinamo fell off the game while Avangard focused on their defense to keep the two-goal advantage and take revenge for the 2-3 OT loss in Minsk.
Dinamo Minsk will close their road series with a match against Barys Astana on 7 December.
