Work is underway in Belarus to prepare a business plan to create a united transportation and logistics company for the Single Economic Space. The information was released by Belarusian Transport and Communications Minister Mr Anatoly Sivak during an online conference The Minister remarked that specialists are now evaluating the market potential of transit and international transportation of the Single Economic Space member states and are analyzing the experience of the world’s leading transportation and logistics centers. A business model is in development to achieve the maximum effect from combining the assets of the parties involved, said the official.
Anatoly Sivak specified that the company will be created in line with the memorandum on developing the transportation and logistics system of the Single Economic Space. The document was signed in Sochi in May 2012 by representatives of the Russian, Kazakh, and Belarusian railway administrations. The project will allow attracting additional volumes of transportation by switching cargo traffic away from sea transport.
