For Moscow Belarus is a very important economic partner, the Minister of the Moscow government, the head of the foreign economic and international relations department Mr Sergei Cheremin said as he met with First Vice Premier of Belarus, Vladimir Semashko.
The trade with Belarus outstrips the trade with Ukraine. However, a $4 billion annual trade does not meet the potential, he said. There is a need to make contacts more regular. In this connection, Moscow has set up a commission on business cooperation, the first meeting of which will take place in the near future, said Sergei Cheremin.
The representative of the Moscow government agreed with Vladimir Semashko about the need to develop projects in high technologies. In this respect, he noted the cooperation with the Minsk-based Integral company, the State Military-Industrial Committee of Belarus.
The Moscow government delegation arrived in Minsk for the Days of Moscow in Belarus. According to Vladimir Semashko and Sergei Cheremin, such actions, other cultural activities reinforce mutual cooperation and bring the sides closer.
