World number 1 Victoria Azarenka of Belarus took a decision to withdraw from the WTA tennis tournament in Tokyo, Japan, most likely because of an injury.
On the 27th of September Azarenka should have played in a quarterfinal match versus World number 6 Angelika Kerber of Germany.
Let’s note that in the previous rounds of the WTA Premier Tournament in Tokyo the Belarusian player quite easily defeated World number 32 Tamira Paszek of Austria in two sets with the score 6-1, 6-1 and World number 16 Roberta Vinci of Italy 6-4, 6-2.
Let’s note that Victoria Azarenka continues preparation for the year-end final tournament, which features 8 best players of the world according to the WTA ranking list.
