Head coach of the Belarusian national football team Alexei Vergeyenko has named the players in Belarus’ U21 squad for the UEFA European U21 Championship qualification game against France.
The match will be played in Borisov, Belarus, on 9 September. This will be the second game for the French U21 squad in the 10th qualifying group. Prior to the visit to Borisov they will host Kazakhstan in their first match of the UEFA European U21 Championship qualification on 5 September.
Belarus have been unlucky so far in the 10th qualifying group with three losses in three games. Alexei Vergeyenko’s side lost to Iceland twice (1-2 and 1-4) and also succumbed to a narrow 0-1 defeat in the home tie against Kazakhstan.
Qualifying group 10 standings are as follows: Iceland - 9 points, Armenia - 3 , Kazakhstan - 3, France - 0, Belarus - 0. First-placed teams from ten groups will enter the playoff of the UEFA European U21 Championship qualification. They will be joined by four best second-placed sides from all qualifying groups.
