Igor Cherginets, Belavia’s deputy director general for marketing and foreign trade, presented the millionth passenger a certificate for two tickets on regular flights on any route of Belavia’s network. The millionth passenger was a young Belarusian woman, a passenger on the Minsk-London flight, who is going to London to study. As a bonus her economy class ticket was upgraded to business class.
“In 2011 we celebrated carrying our millionth passenger in December. In 2012 we reached this milestone in September, this year it happened already in August. In January-July this year our passenger numbers increased by 26% as against the same period of last year. Passenger traffic growth was due to the expansion of the air fleet, an increase in the number of transit passengers, and new routes and increased frequency of flights. I hope that this year we will welcome our 1.5 millionth passenger,” said Belavia’s Director General Anatoly Gusarov.
