Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to China Yuri Senko spoke about the development of cooperation between the two countries in an interview to STV channel, BelTA has learned.

“Despite the pandemic, our cooperation in education has reached very good results. We have signed about 400 different agreements in education. We have also made great progress in culture. As for the economic sector, the trade of Belarusian agricultural products with China increased by about 40% in 2021. If we take goods with high added value, the growth reached almost 80% compared to 2020,” said Yuri Senko.

He also touched upon cooperation in tourism. “In the pre-pandemic period, Belarus was one of the top countries that China paid attention to in terms of tourism. Our country has created and will continue to create all opportunities for Chinese tourists visiting Belarus to get the full range of services, including healthcare. China knows about it,” the ambassador said.

In his words, Belarus and China have achieved very good results in bilateral cooperation. “Our enterprises, institutions, organizations, ministries and agencies are very active in promoting various areas of cooperation. The embassy and the Consulate General of Belarus will create all conditions for Belarusian companies to build trade relations with Chinese partners, which will last for a long time,” Yuri Senko said.
