Batura: State support for women’s volleyball brings good results

        The state support for women’s volleyball in Belarus produces good results, Chairman of the Presidium of the Belarusian Volleyball Federation, Chairman of the Minsk Oblast Executive Committee Boris Batura said in a ceremony to honor the Belarusian women’s national volleyball team who entered the final tournament of the CEV Women’s European Volleyball Championship.The fact that the team advanced to the final tournament of this competition is a significant occasion for Belarusian sport, he said. Aide to the President for Physical Education, Sport and Tourism Maksim Ryzhenkov thanked Boris Batura for his attention to the development of volleyball in Belarus and, in particular, for his support of the women’s national volleyball team. Addressing the sportswomen, Maksim Ryzhenkov expressed hope that the participation in the final tournament of the 2013 CEV Women’s European Volleyball Championship is a stepping stone for further achievements. 
       Head coach of the Belarusian national team Viktor Goncharov underlined that the team aims for the championship title. “We have already got down to fitness training after the vacation. Our volleyball players have a huge potential. All conditions have been created for training process,” Viktor Goncharov said.
The CEV Women’s European Volleyball Championship 2013 will be held from 6 to 8 September. The 14-strong Belarusian team will travel to Germany to compete in Pool C (based in Dresden). Belarus begins the tournament versus Russia on 6 September. On 7 and 8 September they take on Azerbaijan and Croatia.
