Belarusian ambassadors to Poland and Lithuania have been recalled for consultations.

Belarus suggests that Polish and Lithuanian ambassadors to Belarus should be recalled for consultations as well, BelTA learned from Anatoly Glaz, Head of the Information and Digital Diplomacy Office, Press Secretary of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Respectively the ambassadors of Poland and Lithuania to Belarus are invited to follow the example. The ambassadors of Poland and Lithuania were summoned to the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs on 2 October. Due to the clearly destructive actions on the part of these countries it was suggested that the staff of their diplomatic missions in Belarus should be reduced on principles of parity with the Belarusian diplomatic missions in Poland and Lithuania by 9 October 2020. Respectively the number of Lithuanian diplomatic staff in Belarus should be reduced from 25 to 14 diplomats while the number of Polish staff should be reduced from 50 to 18.
