The Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) has been granted an observer status at the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD). The decision was made at the 57th executive session of the UNCTAD Trade and Development Board in Geneva.
“The observer status will enable EEC representatives to take part in UNCTAD events, get access to UNCTAD materials and establish links with other intergovernmental structures within the framework of the organization,” EEC Minister for Trade Andrei Slepnev said.
The new cooperation format promises new opportunities for the EEC, including opportunities to implement the 2013-2015 cooperation program between the EEC and UNCTAD, the press service of the Commission informed.
