An extra meeting of the CIS group of experts will take place in the CIS Executive Committee in Minsk on 27 June to coordinate the draft agreement on the creation of an interstate anti-corruption council. It is expected that the council will be a body of sectoral cooperation in the Commonwealth of Independent States, which main goal will be anti-corruption efforts, including monitoring the implementation of the CIS commitments in the area and constructive cooperation with international organizations and their structures. “The interstate council will assist rapprochement and harmonization of the national legislations of the countries, develop proposals to improve the legal framework for cooperation, coordinate cooperation between competent bodies, secure implementation of the CIS anti-corruption documents,” the press service of the CIS Executive Committee said.
The council will address issues related to the organization of training and enhancement of qualifications of the personnel as well as the opening of the relevant base organizations in the CIS, joint research in the issues of mutual interest.
