CSTO: Unilateral deployment of missile defense can undermine international security

Unilateral deployment of strategic missile defense systems by a state or group of states without taking into account the legitimate interests of other countries can undermine the international security and strategic stability, reads the joint statement of the Foreign Ministers of the CSTO member states signed in Bishkek.
The Ministers expressed support for the Russian initiative for a European security treaty, a legally binding instrument formalizing the international principles of comprehensive, indivisible and equal security for all states in the Euro-Atlantic region.
"In the context of ongoing crises and conflicts in the world, the CSTO member states express their willingness to consolidate the international political agenda in order to reduce tension, strengthen the rule of law and democratic relations among states,” the statement reads.
