Sportsmen from 27 countries will compete in the U-18 European Rowing Championships.

The event kicks off on 24 May at the National Olympic Rowing Center in Zaslavl, Minsk District. The number of participants is likely to be a record high as compared to the other competitions of this kind, Sergei Khramkov, state rowing coach of the Sports and Tourism Ministry of Belarus, told a press conference timed to the start of the competition.
Sergei Khramkov noted that this rowing tournament will be the third one that Belarus plays host to. The organizers have taken into account previous experience to make sure the tournament is held to the highest standards.
“The preparatory work resulted in a record high number of applications for the U-18 European Rowing Championships. The organizers have received 27 applications, which beats the previous record for such events (26 participating countries). We are happy that the number of participants is growing,” Sergei Khramkov underlined.
