Belarus’ regional museums will take part in the international Night of Museums that will be held on 18-19 May. The Brest regional museums will arrange knights tournaments, master classes in medieval dances and a fire show. The Grodno regional museums will focus on the oriental night theme, while the Vitebsk museums on the French chic. The Mogilev regional museums will organize special programs for kids. History and master classes will be in the spotlight in the Minsk regional museums. Belarusian museums try to draw visitors’ interest by introducing new activities. In 2012 1.5 million people partook in cultural events and interactive educational programs offered by the museums. As many as 5.7 million people attended museums in Belarus in 2012. 
      The primary goal of the International Night of Museums event is to popularize museums including among the youth by demonstrating the capabilities and potential of modern museums. Partaking in the 2013 campaign are over 100 Belarusian museums.
