Belarus, Armenia to discuss joint projects in culture

Belarus and Armenia will discuss a number of joint projects in culture. The talks will be held during the Days of Armenian Culture that are taking place in Belarus, Deputy Culture Minister of Armenia Artur Poghosyan said.
Cooperation envisages joint projects in movie-making, joint production of the Spartacus ballet of Aram Khachaturian, Belarus’ participation in the Armenian exhibition Art Expo that showcases cultural achievements in various fields of art. Belarus would like to adopt Armenia’s experience in organizing this event to be able to hold a similar exposition domestically. The sides are to discuss closer ties between universities, as well as projects within the framework of the CIS.
Artur Poghosyan praised cooperation in literature and translations. “Last year many books of modern Belarusian writers were translated into the Armenian language in Armenia. We want our writers, both classics and modern ones, to be translated into the Belarusian language,” the Deputy Culture Minister added.
According to First Deputy Culture Minister of Belarus Vladimir Karachevsky, cultural ties between the two states are promoted not only by government bodies, but also by artistic teams and public associations.
