Culture Ministers of Belarus, Russia talk over Slavonic Bazaar new format

Culture Ministers of Belarus and Russia Boris Svetlov and Vladimir Medinsky met in Moscow on 16 April to discuss a new format of the international arts festival Slavonic Bazaar in Vitebsk, Boris Svetlov said.

“We have discussed an opportunity to hold the Slavonic Bazaar in a new format this year in line with the proposals of the Belarusian head of state. We have certain ideas, and Russia as well as Ukraine does not mind a new format for the festival,” the minister said.

Boris Svetlov stated that he and Vladimir Medinsky discussed the issues related to the erection of the monuments to Simeon of Polotsk in Moscow and Vladimir Mulyavin in Yekaterinburg. Besides, the ministers talked over a joint cinema project to mark the 100th anniversary of World War I implemented within the Union State framework as well as other areas of cultural cooperation between Belarus and Russia.
