Afghanistan is interested in getting its helicopters and other kinds of military hardware repaired in Belarus. The statement was made by First Deputy Speaker of the House of Elders of the National Assembly of Afghanistan Farhad Sakhi as he met with Deputy Chairman of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus Viktor Guminsky, BelTA reports.

The deputy head of the upper house of the Afghanistan parliament also noted that the visit of the Afghanistan parliament delegation is also supposed to establish interparliamentary ties. Once again Farhad Sakhi emphasized that Belarus cooperated with Afghanistan during the Soviet period for a long time. Friendly relations were established between the countries back then.
