Belarus re-elected to UN Commission on International Trade Law

The United Nations General Assembly re-elected Belarus to the UN Commission on International Trade Law, the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs reports. Belarus has been a member of UNCITRAL since 2004.
The current unanimous re-election of the Republic of Belarus to this important UN body clearly shows the respect of UN member states to the balanced approach and practical contribution of Belarus to the work to unify the rules and procedures of international trade. Participation of Belarus’ experts in the work of the Commission and its working groups in Vienna and New York contributes to the elaboration of international legal framework and its application in the fields of arbitration and conciliation. As a member of UNCITRAL, Belarus will continue, together with other countries, to develop recommendations in order to modernize and harmonize international trade law and establish fair, internationally agreed rules of commercial activity, the press service informed.
