Sabalenka moves to round two in Beijing

World number one Aryna Sabalenka of Belarus beat world number 31 Sofia Kenin of the United States, 6-1, 6-2, to reach the China Open second round, BelTA has learned.

Victoria Azarenka of Belarus lost to Poland's world number 25 Magda Linette, 7-5, 1-6, 2-6. Belarus' world number 82 Aliaksandra Sasnovich failed to reach the main draw, losing to Brazil's world number 125 Laura Pigossi, 6-0, 6-7 (4-7), 4-6.

The event in the Chinese capital will be over on 8 October.
