Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko and President of Serbia Tomislav Nikolic had a phone conversation upon the initiative of the Serbian side, the press service of the Belarusian head of state reports. “The Serbian President congratulated his Belarusian counterpart on the excellent organization and conduct of the meeting of the presidents of the Customs Union, Ukraine and high representatives of the European Union in Minsk on 26 August. The Belarusian President noted that the meeting was a success first of all because the parties gathered together at the negotiating table and started discussing pressing issues,” the press service noted.
The heads of state discussed the cooperation between Belarus and Serbia. Tomislav Nikolic urged to ramp up the bilateral cooperation as Serbia will take over the OSCE presidency in 2015. He invited Alexander Lukashenko to pay a visit to Serbia next year.
