On April 15, 2016, the Embassy of Belarus in France hosted the signing ceremony of the Joint communiqué on establishing diplomatic relations between the Republic of Belarus and the Principality of Monaco.
On behalf of the Government of the Republic of Belarus the Joint communiqué was signed by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to the French Republic Pavel Latushka, on behalf of the Government of the Principality of Monaco — by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Principality of Monaco to the French Republic Claude Cottalorda.
According to the communiqué, the diplomatic relations between Belarus and Monaco will develop on the basis of the UN Charter and international law.
The establishment of diplomatic relations between Belarus and Monaco will contribute to further development of bilateral relations in all areas of mutual interest.
Monaco is the 175th state the Republic of Belarus established diplomatic relations with.
