The Belarusian Energy Ministry would like to mention progress in negotiations on the price for Russian natural gas, BelTA learned from Belarusian Energy Minister Vladimir Potupchik after he met with his Russian counterpart Alexander Novak. The next round of talks is supposed to take place in Moscow in May. The Belarusian Energy Minister said: “We owe nothing to the Russian side. We ask for no discounts on natural gas. We just want the legislation obeyed. It is a very delicate matter that we intend to address through negotiations. Today we have been heard. We are glad of it. The next meeting will take place soon. We are going to meet in Moscow. Our view is absolutely understandable and transparent. It has not changed. It seems to us that the Russian side has started hearing us and understanding what we ask.”
