Belarus, Costa Rica interested in strengthening trade, economic contacts

        Belarus and Costa Rica are interested in the enhancement of contacts in the economy and trade. The statement was made at the meeting of Belarus Minister of Foreign Affairs Vladimir Makei and Costa Rica Minister of Foreign Affairs Manuel Gonzalez Sanz at the UN Headquarters in New York.

During the meeting which took place for the first time the sides expressed mutual interest in stepping up efforts to strengthen the ties between the two countries, first of all, in the economy and trade. “The ministers of foreign affairs pointed out the absolute openness of the economies of the two countries and the importance to promote direct ties between the business circles of Belarus and Costa Rica,” the press release of the press service reads.

Apart from that, the ministers agreed to work out a memorandum of understanding and discussed the need to initiate the process of regular consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Belarus and Costa Rica.
