Longer working hours for Belarusian museums under consideration

   The Sports and Tourism Ministry suggests extending the working hours for Belarusian museums. The idea was discussed at a session of the Ministry’s board.
     Belarusian Deputy Sports and Tourism Minister Mikhail Portnoi drew attention to the fact that the tourism industry has a lot of questions concerning the operation of museums, including their work during evening hours and on weekends.
2016 has been declared the Year of Culture in Belarus. As part of the initiative the Sports and Tourism Ministry focuses on cultural and educational tourism. With this in mind Vladimir Prokoptsov mentioned he would like more attention paid to culture when tourism programs are compiled. He also drew attention to the sport complex Raubichi. In his opinion, it is a unique facility that can be interesting to tourists, but travel agencies somehow overlook it.
